10. How to choose a battery for an airsoft replica?

The selection of the appropriate battery depends on several factors: the replica platform, the stock type, the type of connector and the available mounting space in the stock or receiver.

Guidelines for selecting a battery:

  • Check your replica platform (e.g. M4, AK) - this information can be found in the "Replica Model" attribute in the product's technical data.

  • Determine the location of the battery (handguard, under the bolt cover, in the stock) – the location is usually visible in the photos of the replicas on our website.

  • If the battery is mounted in the stock, specify its type. AR-15 stocks may include stocks without additional chambers, stocks with side chambers, or PDW-type stocks.

  • Specify the connector type (small Tamiya or T-Deans/Deans.

  • Check if your replica has a MOSFET/ETU. Replicas with this circuit can use 11.1V LiPo/Li-Ion batteries. For models without a MOSFET/ETU, a 7.4V LiPo/Li-Ion battery is recommended.

  • Select the battery according to the available space in the stock or receiver of the replica.

Important battery parameters:

  • Voltage (V) - affects the work culture and speed of the replica cycle.

  1. 7.4 V LiPo/Li-Ion - recommended for replicas without MOSFET.

  2. 11.1 V LiPo/Li-Ion - suitable for MOSFET replicas.

Some replicas may come with 8.4V or 9.6V NiMH batteries. In these cases, it's recommended to upgrade to more efficient LiPo or Li-Ion batteries. LiPo batteries offer high performance and compact size, while Li-Ion batteries are slightly larger but offer comparable performance.

  • Capacity (mAh) - determines the operating time on a single charge.

Higher capacity means longer gameplay, but also larger battery sizes. Batteries with a capacity of 1000–2200 mAh are most commonly used. A universal choice is the 1100 mAh LiPo battery, which is usually easy to install.

  • Dimensions and shape - must fit within the designated installation space

There are different forms of batteries:

  1. stick,

  2. nunchuck (split, often used in Special Forces stocks),

  3. block (cube).

The most important thing is to match the battery dimensions to the available space—in the stock, foregrip, or under the receiver cover. Detailed dimensions are provided in the technical data for each battery.

  • Connector type.

The most common connectors are:

  1. mini Tamiya - standard in many replicas:

  2. T-Deans/Deans - a higher performance connector used in higher segment replicas:

Information about the connector type can be found in the technical data for each product. For replicas not offered in the store, comparison photos of the connectors may be helpful.
