In AEG and spring-powered replicas, muzzle velocity / FPS can be adjusted by changing the spring. Some models have a quick-change spring system, but not every replica includes this feature — full details are always listed in the product description.
For replicas that do not have a quick-change spring system and are still under warranty, spring replacement may only be performed by our service department.
In GBB replicas the FPS adjustment works differently:
Gas — using different gases (proper proportions of propane and propylene). Blue Gas, Green Gas, Orange Gas, Red Gas, Black Gas — all affect power and smoothness of operation. The stronger the gas, the higher the FPS, but also the greater the parts wear (at temperatures above 20° C it is not recommended to use gas stronger than Green Gas).
NPAS installation — this system allows precise metering of the gas, which makes FPS adjustment possible (not every replica supports NPAS).
Power selection:
Regardless of the system (AEG or GBB/GBBR), always check the limits enforced by airsoft fields — in Poland these are most often up to 1.2 J for assault rifles. As a starting recommendation use power up to 350 FPS measured with 0.20 g BBs (all replica power figures on our site are measured with 0.20 g BBs).
Typical limits in Poland:CQB: 1.2 J, Woodland/field games: 1.9 J, DMR: 2.3–2.8 J, Sniper replicas: 3.0–3.6 J
Note: Increasing the power of a replica beyond the standard level raises the risk of damage to the replica. Damage resulting from replacing the spring with one stronger than M120 is not covered, unless otherwise clearly stated in the product manual or in the product information provided by the seller.
